The savings evidence
Source: CRU — Over 60,000 customers switched energy supplier in March (published 5th June 2026).
That gap is what a household can pay for being on the wrong plan.
The Average saving is ~ €350 (CRU) when households are on the correct tarrif.
Take 100 Households in your parish. only 20% are on a contract, therefore 80 households are overpaying electricity by €28,000. That could instead be spent in YOUR community supporting local jobs.

€350
The uploaded estimate's working assumption per household. CRU guidance has cited a typical €300–€400 saving range.
€1.46m
4,174 households in Killorglin not in contract (80%) multiplied by €350.
This is an estimate, based on CRU national figures applied to households in Killorglin.
Taken together, the case study points to an estimated €1.46 million every year currently leaving the parish in overpaid electricity charges. Kept local instead, that €1.46m could be spent in our shops, trades, businesses and clubs — supporting local jobs and community life — rather than ending up in energy providers' pockets. With the cost of living at crisis point now - helping your parish hold on to their hard earned cash will be remembered.
Sources and context: CRU — Over 60,000 customers switched energy supplier in March (5th June 2026), including the €727 gap between the highest standard and lowest discount tariff, CRU guidance on typical switching and renegotiation savings, CRU Energy Monitoring Report 2023, December 2025 reporting of CRU's national switching figures, and CSO household electricity tariff data. The 5,218 household count, 80% rate, €350 saving and €1.46m total are independent working assumptions, not figures published by CRU or CSO. Started in Kerry
Laune Rangers has a Gold Healthy Club status and wanted to create a simple way for the community to save on their electricity.
The vulnerable in the community suffer the most with the complexities of understanding the best tariff for them.
After a successful pilot in our parish, we wanted to roll out the technology to other clubs to do the same.
SitePlant.com came on board to sponsor the platform to keep it free for clubs.
Healthy Club values
The Healthy Club model places the local club at the heart of its community. Let's Club Together is a not-for-profit run by Laune Rangers GAA Club as part of their own Healthy Club initiative.
